First Aid Course

Mental Health First Aid Course

Offering assistance to those struggling mentally.

...to empower us to competently look after one another - now and after the crisis!

How do I approach and speak to someone who I am worries about? How can I be sure that my worries are legitimate and justified? What should I say?  What resources or professional help can I recommend? Should I trust my gut feeling?

In our Mental Health First Aid Course you will find answers to these and many more questions!

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF OUR COURSE?

In this course you will be enabled to recognise mental crises or health problems in your environment, to alleviate them and, as appropriate, prevent them.

In our course we will reduce your inhibitions in contact with affected individuals and establish and strengthen your know-how so that you can provide adequate first aid and facilitate help-seeking from professional support services.

This video (currently only available in German) compactly explains what the course is about:

WHO IS THE COURSE MEANT FOR?

The course is targeted at all individuals who are motivated to further develop their ability to look after others. Especially if you have ever been unsure how to behave when you suspected someone was struggling mentally. This can involve individuals you know well as well as relative strangers. No prior knowledge is necessary!

WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THE COURSE?

Everyone. Individuals who find the time and choose to take part in our course learn to more competently and surely react to and deal with psychological crises and mental health issues in their environment. At the same time individuals currently struggling with mental health issues may benefit by living in a more alert community willing to offer assistance and refer them to professional support services. Our experience shows that both individuals with prior experience as es well as laypersons enjoy and benefit from the course.
