Mind Me, one of the initiatives of the German NGO On The Move e.V. and its local partners Living Dreams Generations (Ghana) and Tinada Youth Organization (Kenya), aims to reduce stigma and discrimination related to mental illness in Ghana and Kenya by storytelling of affected patients. These stories are meant to be displaced at Home of Brains and other public places of relevance (national ind international) that can make people understand and pay attention to mental health and persons living with mental disorders.
We believe that every patient has a message that they will like the whole world to hear. Such messages range from messages of sorrow, emotional/psychological/physical torture, psychological and emotional pains from discrimination and stigmatization, and many other forms of inhumane treatments.
But we also strongly believe that some of these patients, despite going through the odds in their lives, still have messages of hope, courage, encouragement, etc. which are worth sharing.
